Connect Cloud provided controls for Cash and Securities. For the Omnibus account Equatex reconcile the position versus the Equate Plus Platform – this is a proprietary system designed for global equity and non-equity plans.

The team required a system that did not rely heavily on IT to implement or support. The projects was sponsored by the Operations Director, Head of Client Asset Management, Head of IT and the COO.

The process surrounding annual maintenance and regression testing of SWIFT standards was costly and time consuming.

This Global Investment Manager challenged themselves to find a technology solution to improve their portfolio reconciliation control environment.

The team were looking for a new provider that would allow them to complete full automation of their cash, position and NAV reconciliation across a broad suite of equity and fixed income portfolios, held with over twenty custody platforms.

Control Cloud was able to cope with different formats of data, with widened ability this brought into scope reconciliations that were completed manually.

Slow, costly and error prone manual adoption of SWIFT standards were impacting the businesses' ability to support new applications, limiting growth and driving up the risk of failed transactions.

Connect Cloud delivered rapid automation throughout the securities lending processes by adding new Securities (MT5nn) message flows to support a new Stock Lending application solution.

The shift in focus allowed the firm to develop new applications resulting in an estimated $10M in new business.

US Global Asset Manager

A US based firm providing investment management and research services worldwide to institutional, high-net-worth and retail investors with approximately US$725 billion in assets under management.

The team were outsourcing reconciliation to a 3rd party using legacy technology. They were looking to bring reconciliation in-house to save significant costs and to improve controls within the business.

Control Cloud was adopted for Cash and Stock reconciliations, using SWIFT and SWIFT-like data feeds, followed by Prime Broker reconciliations and manual reconciliations in spreadsheets.

The firm now have complete ownership of their controls environment with controls wholly maintained by the Recon CoE.

3,000 accounts, 300 controls, and 100 users were onboarded in the first two years of operation.

The team responsible for supporting portfolio analytics and management was tasked with automating the error-prone manual reconciliation process that was being performed on spreadsheets.

Control Cloud and Pulse Data solutions provided data acquisition and normalisation from custodian banks, automatically integrating and reconciling data from 12 custodians.

The firm chose Control Cloud Fee Billing to connect fee data with downstream systems and custodian banks. Gresham created data extracts to send fees to Schwab, Fidelity and US Bank, and allow Control to receive data files.
